DPVentures for the ARTS, owned and managed by Artists' Housing's resident
writer Donna Pia Vocci, offers sophisticated marketing and media strategies
to the individual artist and arts organizations. Expertly crafted messages
are but one of her signature services. She works closely with each client
to ensure that she captures the essence of their medium and their working
philosophy. Publicity campaigns in the local print and broadcast media attract
attention from both the novice and veteran aficionados alike. In addition,
she promotes community based arts programs in Gallery 1448 and other venues.
On the video/film production side of her business, she scripts and produces
corporate training videos, television programs, and film in the documentary
format.
Her menu of services for individual artists includes:
Strategic marketing/media plans
Collateral design and development
Grant writing/Script writing
Arts organizations call upon her event planning and promotional services.
She favors working with gallery owners that spotlight social/activist messages
in their exhibits. One such effort was the promotion of Lightbox: a travelling
exhibit. To raise AIDS awareness, Visual AIDS (the same group that iconed
the ribbon) photo-archived the face of the AIDS pandemic in the U.S. in a
slide show housed in lightboxes.
Local filmmakers collaborated with her on the groundbreaking documentary
EVOLVE: A Perspective on Nutrition, her first foray into the format. This
piece, produced for local public television, focused on the personal and
ecological implications of the Vegetarian choice. A screening took place
during the first group show at Gallery 1448 in the Spring of 2000.Her interest
in health matters is also a focus in her next television project, The MEDICINE
SHOW. The pilot episode, screened at the Grand Opening of Gallery 1448 in
October 2001, presented the integrated approach to treating heroin addiction.
Future tapings of the show will be held at Gallery 1448 and aired locally
on FOX 45 upon successful completion of the air time sales campaign. It is
anticipated that production will begin in the fall with the taping of a two
part special titled, "Art as Therapy in our Post 911 World". Both earlier
works are housed in the gallery's media library.
